The Selecão started as the dominant side with some early incursions after Lucas Paqueta found Richarlison at a close range with a cut-back pass but skied wide for a restart.
Ghana’s first attempt happened in the 3rd minute after Dennis Odoi picked up Afena-Gyan with a good ball and made a good run but his strike was too feeble to beat Liverpool’s, Alisson Becker.
In the 6th minute, Brazil broke on the right after Neymar set up Vinicius Jr with a pass, his ground out-swing cross found Paqueta just at the edge of the box but fired wide.
They finally opened the scoring account in the 8th minute through unmarked Marquinhos who headed from Raphinha’s corner kick.
Baba Rahman combined nicely with Jordan Ayew after a swift run on the left but his cross to locate Kudus Mohammed was cleared out by Marquinhos to a wasted corner kick.
Brazil doubled their lead in the 27th minute through Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison, who struck straight to the bottom left corner after receiving a decent pass from Neymar.
In the 40th minute, Richarlison netted his brace and Brazil’s third of the night to make it 3-0 after connecting into the net from Neymar’s free-kick and that’s how the first half ended.
Coach Otto Addo made two substitutions right at the start of the second half, taking off Kamaldeen Sulemana and Felix Afena-Gyan for Inaki Williams and Mohammed Salisu who both finally made their debut for the Black Stars.
Substitute Inaki Williams with his first incursion after making a good run on the right but his effort went across the face of the goal.
Jordan Ayew combined with Baba Rahman and raced above two Brazilian defenders into the box but was clipped down- an incident which was overlooked by the referee.
Inaki Williams once again made a run in the box trying to pull one back but his shot was blocked by Bremer. Skipper Andre Ayew connected with a towering header but went off the crossbar.
The Selecão were given a free kick in the 64th minute but Neymar’s delivery was piled out by Jojo Wollacott.
In the 71st minute, Ghana made another three sets of substitutions to bring on Tariq Lamptey, Elisha Owusu and Antoine Semenyo.
The Brazilians nearly made it four in the 74th minute after Paqueta sent in a cross but Raphinha at the far post couldn’t get the connection and go out for a throw-in.
Another huge change in the 86th minute but a great save from Jojo Wollacott prevented Rodrygo initially, another follow-up from Cunha was stopped by Salisu for a wasted corner kick.
It ended 3-0 for the five-time world champions after full time.
