The Member of Parliament for Asunafo South Constituency in the Ahafo Region, Hon. Eric Opoku has urged trainee nurses in the country to vote against the NPP coming 2024 elections
The Asunafo South MP was speaking at Kwapong Nursing Training College as a special guest when interacting with TEIN members. He asked trainee students to avoid and vote against the NPP because of their failure to fulfill their promise of paying nursing trainees allowances for the past one year
The payment of the nursing trainee allowances was a major campaign promise of the Nana Addo government in the 2016 general election which made most of these students vote massively for them
“Is it not surprising that the government in it’s budget allocated money for trainee allowances but has refused to pay them, which government does that? Because of payments of allowances, government has reduced the number of students to be admitted into nursing trainee schools but is still not paying them, which government deceives people like that?” he quizzed
