Presidential advisor on health, Dr Anthony Nsiah Asare has mounted warned contractors working on the Agenda 111 hospitals projects that the delay in completing the work early could lead to their contracts being revoked.
“We will not shy away from cancelling or terminating any contract which is not going very well,” Dr Nsiah Asare warned.
He insists that the timelines given for the construction of the said hospitals remain unchanged.
Dr Nsiah Asare revealed that the contractors who have commenced work have been given 10 per cent for mobilization to hit the ground running for the hospitals at a faster pace.
President Akufo-Addo in 2020 as part of his vision to construct hospitals in the districts to improve health care launched Agenda 111. The facilities were to be made available quickly to help in containing Covid-19 cases.
Already US$100 million has been pumped into the project to serve as commencement funding.
It is estimated that an amount of $16.88 million will go into the construction of each hospital as $12.88 million will go into construction while $4 million will serve as funding for medical equipment needed for the hospital to operate.
