The Ghana Health Service says, covid 19 is on the rise with about 450 new cases as at June 6th.
Western, Greater Accra, and Eastern regions have recorded 5 cases of the Monkey pox.
Speaking on the issue with Ahotor 92.3 FM newsroom, Dr. Gabriel Agbanyo, a public health practitioner said, covid 19 upsurge is as a result of rejection of the covid-19 protocols and low vaccine intake.
Touching on monkey pox cases recorded, he said it is unfortunate but the health services has measures in place to deal with it.
According to the health expert, the Ministry of Health has given two weeks mandatory quarantine period after which they believe the patient should recover on a strong immune system boosting.
He noted that there is an introduction of a vaccine to the virus currently in the country.
Dr Agbanyo advised the general public to have more exercise, eating of more greens and fruits, as well as, foods that boasts the immune system, washing of hands and use of sanitizers. He also urged people to avoid coming into contact with monkeys, bats and rats, since they are carriers of the virus.
On signs and symptoms he said, rushes of monkey pox are usually bigger than that of chicken pox, and it usually begins with fever, sprouting within 3days.
