AFCON 2023 Qualifiers: Hearts’ Dennis Korsah gets late call-up ahead of CAR game

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo and his technical team have handed a call-up to Hearts of Oak defender Dennis Nkrumah Korsah for Sunday’s all-important fixture against the Central African Republic.

The Black Stars of Ghana will be flying out to battle out with the Central African Republic (CAR) on match-day two of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Ghana will be playing in the 2022 Kirin Cup tournament this month alongside Japan, Chile and Tunisia after match-day two of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers as part of their preparations for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Korsah received his maiden call-up to the senior national team of Ghana in March for the 2022 FIFA World Cup final playoff games against Nigeria.

The 26-year-old full-back is rated among the best defenders in the local scene following his exploits at Hearts of Oak and his former club Ebusua Dwarfs.

Korsah joined Hearts of Oak on a three-and-half year deal from Division One League outfit Ebusua Dwarfs before the commencement of the second round of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season.

Already, his teammate Daniel Afriyie Barnieh and Bechem United winger Augustine Okrah are in the camp of the Black Stars. He has made 15 appearances for Hearts of Oak in all competitions this season so far.
