After gaining promotion to the Ghana Premier league in 2016, Cape Coast-based Elmina Sharks have officially been relegated from Ghana’s top-flight league.
The club suffered a huge defeat in the hands of Berekum Chelsea in the Ghana Premier League matchday 31 fixture at the Golden City Park.
Goals from Emmanuel Sarpong, Henry Ainsu and Collins Ameyaw secured three points for Berekum Chelsea and also confirmed Elmina Sharks’ demotion to Ghana’s Division One league.
With three games remaining to end the season, Elmina Sharks lie 18th on the league table have won just five games, drawn seven and lost nineteen times with 22 points.
