The CEO of Consumer Protection Agency, Kofi Kapito has urged consumers who have decided to tow the line of illegal connections due to the proposed utility tariff adjustment to desist from towing that path
Speaking this afternoon on Simpieso, the hottest political show hosted by Emmanuel Martey, Alaska De Don, he said, they are going to have a stakeholders meeting on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, to discuss these adjustments
His comment came following the call from Utility Service Providers, Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) and Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) to increase their tariffs to 148% and 334% respectively
According to them, this has become necessary because of the high rise in the cost of production
Meanwhile, some Ghanaians are lamenting on the economic situation in the country and are calling on the government to do something about the situation
