Veteran Journalist and Managing Editor of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako Junior has indicated that his outfit has accepted that it erred in the story that indicted the Deputy Minister for Finance, Abena Osei Asare in a demolishing exercise.
The story, which was first published in October last year indicated that Mrs. Abena Osei Asare was complicit in the demolishing of the structure of the Dubai Embassy at Roman Ridge in Accra.
According to reports, the same story was repeated this year on April 4.
The story, left the Deputy Finance Minister with other option but to sue the Managing Editor as well as the newspaper.
According to the writ, Mrs Osei-Asare was asking for damages for defamation and a retraction and apology from the publishers.
Commenting on the issue, veteran journalist, Kweku Baako has indicated that his outfit erred in publishing of the story in question.
He further indicated that an apology has been rendered to the Deputy Finance Minister admitting that his outfit did a poor job and the story has been retracted.
“My newspaper did a poor a job!. Unfair and unjust to the Deputy Finance Minister. We have since retracted the story under referenced and apologized to her accordingly,” Mr. Kweku Baako Junior indicated.
