The Member of Parliament for Upper Manya, Hon Bismark Tetteh Nyarko has pleaded with government to ensure laws backing the management of premix oil in the country be observed accordingly
According to him, this government has handed the operations and management of premix oil to their party executives who are ignorant and unprofessional about the work
“In Upper Manya, we have Npp research officer who doesn’t know what it takes to go to fishing but is the cordinator for premix fuel, we have a vice chairman who doesn’t know anything about fishing but is the laison officer between the region and upper Manya” he explained
Speaking on Simpieso show today, March 23 with Emmanuel Martey, Alaska De Don, hon Tetteh indicated, there is a legislative instrument (LI) governing the management and operations of premix but the Nana Addo-Bawumia government choose to do things their own way
He called on the government to give the issue the needed attention since it has led to difficult and unbearable situations for users of premix
His comments follows a recent stampede that took place at the Akati market in the Upper Manya constituency due to shortage of premix oil
