Ghana Premier League team Ashanti Gold were ambushed by armed robbers while travelling from Accra to Obuasi after their league match against Hearts of Oak on Sunday night.
According to the club’s Twitter account, no injuries or casualties were sustained, but the bandits fired three rounds at the bus in the process.

It was reported on Twitter that the bandits fired three rounds through the front bulletproof glass as “the team driver meandered his way through a horrible scene of gunfire.”
There were no serious injuries, which was fortunate. In addition, the statement added that “the whole squad is now safe in Obuasi.”
