The Volta Regional Police Command has apprehended three persons who made attempts to sell a dead body to a fetish priest.
The suspects, Kalefe Korku, 42, Afedo Kpotor, 21, and Ametoke Sitsofe, 27, are allegedly the killers of the 30-year man identified as Albert Anyinado.
According to information gathered, the three suspects contacted a fetish priest at Agbozume that they had a dead body that they wanted to sell.
After a discussion with the fetish priest, they asked him for his help to find a buyer for the dead body.
The Police after being informed of the plan of the suspects, set up a plot to catch the three men and arranged for a fake buyer to deal with them.
In a deal that the fake buyer of the Police offered to pay GHS7,000 for the dead body, the suspects agreed and planned a meet at Agavedzi near the lagoon to receive the dead body.
The three men on arrival cited the presence of the police and abandoned the dead body before taking to their heels.
The Police who were on alert pursued the suspects and succeeded in arresting all of them at their various houses at Agavedzi, Agbozume, and Adina respectively.
The suspects are currently in the custody of the police and assisting with investigations.
Meanwhile, the dead body has been deposited at Ketu South Municipal Hospital morgue awaiting autopsy.
