Kumasi Asante Kotoko is reported to have terminated the contract of Coach Mariano Barreto. The decision arrived after an agreement was reached by both parties.
Bad mouthing the club in public space made Barreto unpopular among Kotoko faithfuls and is rumored to have played a role in his exit. WAFA gaffer Prosper Nartey Ogum is in pole position to be the next coach of the club per reports in Kumasi.
The Portuguese trainer led Kotoko to a first runner up finish in the 2020/2021 season.
