Although he failed four courses at the University he never gave up, but rather went ahead by writing series of remedials on all the courses he earlier failed.
Uncle Ato known in his private life as Rev. Alexander Bruce Ghartey has revealed that he failed four courses when he was a student at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KATH).
The Multiple Award winning Ghanaian Gospel Artiste, who is the 7th child in the family of 8; born at Tarkwa in the Western region of Ghana.
Speaking in an interview with Bishop Agbey Junior, host of Sunday Afternoon Live Worship on Ahotor 92.3fm said; “Being an SRC Vice President and a Music Director I became busy which affected my academics, I failed four courses in one semester and I was given the opportunity to write remedials . Initially I wanted to be a Constructor so I studied Building Technology.”
Uncle Ato has 6 albums to his credit, the first album which he released during his time in the Tertiary institution in 2002 titled “Obaatanpa”
