The General secretary of the GFA, lawyer Harrison Prosper Addo has opened up on the GFA’s relationship with Kotoko and stated that the GFA has no outstanding issue with Kotoko.
Mr Addo believes that because they are expected to have a perfect rapport with all clubs in Ghana which Asante Kotoko is no exception, what they are doing is to maintain that relationship and continue to build it.
Commenting on the issue further, lawyer Harrison Prosper Addo added that Kotoko can’t play in Africa without the GFA and they (FA) are currently engaging them purposely to help Kotoko have a successful game against ES Setif on Sunday.
“Many of the discussions you hear on radio, TV or social media about the GFA and Kotoko, are mere opinions of people which you can’t challenge. I only do a follow-up on issues which border on statements of facts but not what people speculate around”.
“As I speak, the GFA is run with rules but not to satisfy other’s desires”, lawyer Harrison Prosper Addo remarked in an interview with Ahotor FM sports.
Since the appointment of Nana Yaw Amponsah and the commencement of his official duties as Kotoko CEO, there have been speculations in the media that the GFA aren’t in good terms with Kotoko.
Some people are of the view that because Nana Yaw Amponsah contested in the GFA presidential election which Mr Kurt Okraku ultimately won, there has not been a good relationship amongst the two and has affected Kotoko too.
The GFA general secretary thinks otherwise and has cleared all doubts as to whether the GFA has a good relationship with Kotoko or not.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko will play Algerian giant ES Setif in the first leg play off of the CAF Confederations cup on sunday.
