A new Managing Director has been nominated by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to replace Mr Edwin Provencaal as Managing Director of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited, MyNewsGh.com has confirmed.
Mr. Provencaal replaced the late George Okley Mensah who resigned from the company’s top post in September 2019.
Mr Edwin Provencal, who was technical advisor to the former Minister of Energy, Mr John Peter Amewu is believed to have lost out in the intense lobbying that shook his seat at BOST in the aftermath of the December 7th. 2020 election that saw President Akufo-Addo earn a second term.
Some staff of the company, particularly contract staff loyal to the ruling party whose appointments he declined to confirm expressed joy about the development
President Akufo-Addo has named as new Managing Director, Van-Gogh Bagnaba to take over the affairs of the company.
Mr. Bagnaba until his elevation was the General Manager, Field Operations of the company.
Since the exit of the NDC’s Kwame Awuah-Darko who is credited with turning around the fortunes of the company from 2013 to 2016, successive Managing Directors have struggled to find their feet at the helm of affairs in the company.
With this latest appointment, the company has now had four different Managing Directors in four years.
Alfred Obeng took over from January 2017 and was sacked in June 2018. George Okley took over in June 2018 and resigned in August 2019 while Edwin Provencaal took over in September 2019 to January 2021. Now Mr. Van-Gogh Bagnaba is taking over.
