In 2019, President Akufo-Addo’s nephew, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko together with one Philip Ayensu were allegedly named in the fraudulent Power Distribution Service (PDS) saga.
It was also made known that some cronies of the ruling NPP were scheming to allot shares of PDS deal amongst themselves.
Later on, in 2020, Gabby Asare Otchere- Darko was again named a player in the Agyapa Royalties deal which brought forth the famous “Akyem Sakawa Boys and Grandpas”.
Ghanaian social commentator, anti-graft campaigner, musician cum politician, Kwame Asare Obeng nicknamed A-Plus has said the nephew of the president who is also the founder of the Danquah Institute, Gabby Asare Otchere Darko confided in him sometime ago that he together with some big shots in the NPP will be jailed if John Mahama is restored as president.
A-Plus said, aside Gabby, Philip Ayensu who was widely known as the board chairman of the defunct fraudulent PDS is likely to face jail term should Ghanaians vote John Mahama in the December 7, General Elections.
According to A-Plus, Gabby informed him he had told Philip Ayensu about their impending arrest if they relinquish power to John Mahama and NDC.
A-Plus wondered why Gabby will be afraid of any future prosecution should the NPP lose to the NDC if indeed they are innocent of any wrongdoing and the string of allegations against them has no leg to stand on.
A-Plus wrote on his Facebook wall “You are there shouting 4more4Nana when Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko himself told me he has told Philip Ayensu that, if NDC comes to power they will arrest he Gabby and Philip Ayensu second so when he gets money he should use to sponsor NPP to stay in power”.
