The Communications Director for the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Mr. Henry Asante Twum has pleaded on behalf of the Senior National Team for their poor performance against Mali on friday.

The Black stars lost against a depleted Malian side with the likes of Moussa Djenepo, Moussa Marega, captain Molla Wague, Abdoulaye Diaby, Yves Bissouma, Diadie Samassekou, Mohammed Camara and Sekou Koita all absent from the team.

Speaking in an interview on Kumasi based FOX FM, Henry revealed that, they were all  shocked with the results and performance displayed by the Black Stars in Antalya.

“We are all not pleased with the performance of the Black Stars and thought we could have done better”

According to Henry Asante Twum, considering the  training they had prior to the game, they expected a better result and performance from the Black Stars, but what we  witnessed on Friday was abysmal.

“Ghanaians should forgive us for such a poor performance from the Black Stars and expect a better game against Qatar come Monday”.

Ghana Black Stars lost 3-0 to their West African opponents, Mali in an International Friendly game one Friday in Turkey and will play their second friendly game against Qatar on Monday ahead of their preparations for next month’s AFCON qualifiers.
