My son needs his peace of mind to play – Mr Nettey

“I am only pleading with both parties to sit down and solve this issue to enable my son have his peace of mind. The review is the issue and my suspicion is the onward transfer” – Mr Ransford Nettey.

Father of Asante Kotoko right back Christopher Nettey has pleaded for peace to prevail amid ongoing negotiations on his son contract with his agent Godwin Attram and club Asante Kotoko.
The defender’s contract has ended with the two times African champions and all efforts to renew it has proved cumbersome amid speculations of other clubs interest in the 22 year old.

Mr Ransford Nettey has therefore taken the opportunity to plead with both the agent of his son (Christopher) and Asante Kotoko to resolve the matter as quickly as possible.

In an interview with Kumasi based Oyerepa FM, Mr Ransford called for calm and peace in order for his son to continue with his career since he will need a peaceful atmosphere to flourish as a footballer.

“My son Christopher Nettey belongs to Attram de visser Soccer Academy ,he gave the player to Kotoko now the problem is paper work, documentation that’s what am worried about because if two elephants fight it is the grass that suffers so if Attram and Kotoko doesn’t come to a compromise its going to affect the future of my son”

“Maxwell Konadu and Godwin Attram have all played Football so know the ins and outside of it. Am just appealing with them to both parties to take a second look at the boy’s future and not the money they are going to get today”

“The two parties have failed to understand each other on monetary matters. Kotoko signed him for $35000 and my son was to receive GHc 25000 annually for 3yrs but Nana Yaw Amponsah asked for a review of the contract”

Earlier in August, it was rumoured that, the Premier League giants Asante Kotoko could be dealt with a massive blow as they were on the verge of losing Christopher Nettey to an European club.
The highly rated right back was expected to leave Ghana and have a two-week training with KV Mechelen and was supposed  to earn himself a permanent deal if he impresses the technical bench of the Belgian top-flight side.

The 22-year-old joined Asante Kotoko from lower-tier side Attram de Visser Academy on an initial one-year loan in December 2019 and has since been an instrumental member of the Porcupine Warriors squad.

Nettey joined the porcupine warriors from Attram de Visser Soccer Academy owned by former Ghanaian International, Godwin Attram in 2019 and had a scintillating performance in the truncated Ghana Premier League season making 13 appearances.
