The Disease Control Officer for Adansi South District in the Ashanti Region, who also served as a COVID-19 team member, Williams Asamoah has been accused of neglecting an old man to die after a journalist reported an incident of a suspected COVID-19 patient.
According to the residents, the suspected old man was found lying around the area, so the District authorities including the Social Welfare at New Edubiase, the New Edubiase Police Station and COVID-19 team member, but they did not respond to the calls.
The reporter later got in touch with the COVID- 19 team member on the phone, but rejected his call saying, they don’t have Personal Protective Equipments (PPE’s) and a car to pick the patient, and suggested that the Reporter hires a taxi to bring the suspected patient.
