EC appears to be orchestrating a Theatre of Comedies – Ofosu Ampofo

The chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Hon Dr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo has taken a swipe at the Electoral Commission regarding the grim stance by the commission to compile a new voters register from the last week of June, this year despite the Covid-19 pandemic.

The NDC boycotted the Inter Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting with political parties and some civil society groups aimed at finding a lasting solution to the impasse regarding the new register for the 2020 polls.

However, during a panel discussion on Ahotor 92.3 FM’s Adekye Mu Nsem morning show on Thursday, Dr. Ofosu Ampofo said happenings at the commission could be likened to a comedy of theatrics considering the behaviour of the EC chairperson, Madam Jane Mensah.

He averred that the posture of the Director of Operations and Research for the EC, Dr Serebour Quarcoo, is disheartening, and also exposes the activities of the EC to ridicule.

The country is on a knife edge over the insistence by the EC to compile a new voters register to satisfy their whims and caprices.
