Deputy General Secretary of Ghana Medical Association Dr. Justice Yankson is urged government to consider a total lockdown of the country to help stop the spread of the virus.
Dr Justice in an interview on Ahotor 92.3 fm added that the partial lockdown has brought a lot of impacti tracing tracing people who have come into contact with people tested positive and has also enhanced surveillance.
The Ghana Medical Association has been calling on government for a lockdown when the country recorded its first case in the Greater Accra Metropolis and Greater Kumasi.
The virus has since spread to the Volta, Upper East, Eastern, Western and the Central regions.
‘Therefore government should listen to the advice and consider a total lockdown before the virus spread all over the country and that will be very difficult for the country to sustain’, he added
He also pleaded with Ghanaians to accept and adhere to the protocols, should the government consider a total lockdown.
