The Volta Regional capital HO will be the venue for this years 36th anniversary of the 31st December Revolution under the theme “Uniting around the principles of probity, accountability and social justice.”
Former President Flt lt. Jerry John Rawlings stated that the event will feature a route March and a durbar of chiefs and people as well as wreath laying ceremony.
The former president, revealed that this years event will be sober and reflective and remind Ghanaians of the principles that underpinned the revolution.
Former President Rawlings made this comment at the inaugural meeting of the local organizing committee led by the Volta Regional members of parliament caucus chairman Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah and volta regional chairman of the National Democratic Congress John Kwadwo Gyaapong .
The Committee includes the cadres of the revolution led by the Volta Region Chairman Comrade Frank Adoba.
Also represented at the meeting were the Regional Youth and Women’s wing of the NDC, the Ho Central NDC, the Muslim community and the 31st December Women’s movement.
