Ghana cannot afford to trade its peace for anything – NCCE

The Western Regional Director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Mr Alphosus Arthur, has stated that Ghana cannot afford to trade its peace for any political party’s interest.

He, in this regard, cautioned against the use of inflammatory language and other forms of inducement by any political party to disrupt the congenial atmosphere Ghana is enjoying.

Mr Arthur said this during an interparty dialogue organised by the NCCE in Takoradi for political party representatives on their preparedness towards a peaceful election.

He said the Commission over the period had engaged with political parties and the citizenry to educate them on the need to maintain the peace citing Ivory Coast, Sierra Leone, and Rwanda as examples.

Meanwhile, the CPP, NDC, and PPP representative who participated in the event called on the media to report right, avoid sensational reportage and abusive and intemperate language which could disrupt the peace.
