NDC Presidential Candidate John Dramani Mahama has criticized Ghana’s Flagstaff House, calling it a “hub of fake news.”
John Mahama accused certain officials at the seat of government of deliberately spreading false information, especially about political opponents, to manipulate public perception.
During his #Mahama4Change tour in the Eastern Region, John Mahama visited Akroso, where Chief Nana Kwabena Ofori II endorsed his leadership but urged the media to report his words accurately.
The chief recounted an incident where his statements were misrepresented in the press, leading to public backlash.
“Report exactly what I say,” he appealed to journalists.
Mr. Mahama, in addressing the gathering, defended the journalists and redirected blame to the Flagstaff House, saying it has twisted facts about him and other public figures.
He expressed concern about the seat of government engaging in misinformation, stressing that it is a troubling practice that must end.
Confident in the NDC’s chances in the upcoming December 7th elections, John Mahama described the anticipated victory as a “second independence” for Ghana, pledging to restore honesty and transparency to government.
