Antoine Semenyo Credits Bournemouth Manager Andoni Iraola for Stopping Him from Leaving

Ghana striker Antoine Semenyo has revealed how Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola played a crucial role in his decision to stay at AFC Bournemouth.

Semenyo had been the target of several clubs, including Liverpool and Manchester United, but ultimately chose to sign a new long-term deal with the Cherries, keeping him at Vitality Park until 2030.

Semenyo credited Iraola’s strong finish to last season as a major factor in his decision to stay. “There was a lot of interest and back-and-fourth with the club [over a potential transfer],” Semenyo told Sky Sports. “But I knew in my head that the manager’s got something up his sleeve this year. How we finished off the season last year was so good and we could continue, especially with the players we’ve bought in as well.”

The 25-year-old forward has been in excellent form, scoring 11 Premier League goals last season and continuing with six goals in 10 matches this season. He praised Iraola’s coaching, saying,

“He’s unbelievable [Iraola] honestly. As everyone embedded into what his playing style was, it’s just been unbelievable. It’s just relentless and I think everyone’s into it.”

Semenyo’s decision to stay at Bournemouth is a significant boost for the club, and his impressive form suggests that he will continue to be a key player for the Cherries. With Iraola at the helm, Semenyo believes that the team has a bright future ahead.
