A boxing ban has been imposed on Anthony Joshua in the wake of his horrific loss to Daniel Dubois last week.
The 27-year-old domestic competitor sent the Watford-born fighter to the canvas in the fifth round at Wembley in front of 96,000 spectators.
Dubois defeated his opponent four times in a stunning victory to maintain his IBF heavyweight title.
The British Boxing Board of Control is enforcing the protocol, which states that Joshua cannot return to the ring for 28 days.
The Association of Boxing Commissions and Combative Sports emphasises that medical suspensions are routinely given to competitors who lose by knockout or technical knockout.
Joshua has stated he will continue to box; thus, the brief suspension is unlikely to stop him from doing so. His next opponent has yet to be announced.
