Amankwaah Mireku Backs Hearts of Oak Against Asante Kotoko

Former Hearts of Oak captain Amankwaah Mireku believes his former club can edge rivals Asante Kotoko in Sunday’s highly anticipated “Super Clash”.

The match, part of Matchday 30 fixtures, will take place at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Mireku reflected on the evolving nature of the Hearts-Kotoko rivalry, saying, “Hearts of Oak and Kotoko games are unpredictable. It’s not like our time where you could boldly claim that we will beat Kotoko.”

Despite Kotoko’s higher league position, Mireku cautioned against underestimating Hearts, saying, “Just because Kotoko are higher up the table doesn’t mean they’ll automatically win. I believe Hearts of Oak still have a chance.”

The Super Clash is a showcase of Ghanaian football, steeped in history and pride. The match often produces surprises, regardless of form or momentum.

Hearts of Oak will look to bounce back from inconsistent performances, while Kotoko will be boosted by ending their winless streak.
