The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ashaiman Constituency has stepped up its commitment to community health by intensifying its health screening program for residents of Maa-Momo in Ashaiman Constituency. This initiative, now in its third round, was held in collaboration with Kuwait Clinic, ensuring that a wide range of medical services, including free medication, were accessible to the local population. The program reflects the party’s dedication to grassroots engagement, focusing not only on political support but also on the wellbeing of the people who back them.
Organized by Alhaji Salifu Zakaria, a National Security Officer overseeing the Golden Jubilee Tema Port, the health screening program has garnered significant community interest. The initiative also receives support from Direct Aid, which partners with the NDC to provide essential health services to participants. By combining medical expertise with community outreach, this program has been instrumental in offering vital health checks and treatments to individuals who may have limited access to regular medical care.

John Arthur, Personal Assistant to Alhaji Salifu Zakaria, emphasized the program’s goal of promoting health awareness among Ashaiman residents, particularly those aligned with the NDC. He explained that the screenings serve as both a gesture of gratitude to loyal party supporters and a genuine effort to improve public health in the constituency. Health is wealth, so they are willing to bring out the healthy aspect of the people in Ashaiman, said Arthur, underlining the importance of preventative healthcare measures in the community.

This initiative showcases the NDC’s focus on social responsibility in addition to political engagement. By addressing key public health needs, the party strengthens its connection with the people and builds a foundation of trust and care. The consistent partnership with medical providers and aid organizations demonstrates a sustainable approach to community health that prioritizes the long-term wellbeing of Ashaiman’s residents.
