Today, the youth of Akyim Ntronang expressed their dissatisfaction by jeering at their District Chief Executive, Raymond Nana Damptey, over allegations of involvement in illegal mining, commonly known as “galamsey.” The anger of the youth stemmed from the scarcity of water in the area, which has resulted in various skin diseases affecting the entire community.
Responding to the accusations during an interview with the media, the DCE vehemently denied engaging in galamsey activities in the area.

Nana Asiedu Akora II, the chief of the area, strongly denied the allegations made by the DCE, stating that he is not involved in any illegal mining activities in the area. He expressed his embarrassment over the DCE’s decision to invite the police, media, and others to investigate his premises for galamsey activities.
