Akufo-Addo needs to walk the talk of Free and Fair elections – Political Analyst

Political Analyst David Dunu has dismissed President Akufo-Addo’s assurance of peaceful elections as mere political gimmickry.

Speaking on Ahotor FM’s Simpieso show with host Emmanuel Martey, Dunu argued that if the President were truly committed to his words, he would have already investigated the deaths of eight people during the 2020 elections.

Mr. Dunu emphasized that the President should “walk the talk” rather than make empty promises.

President Akufo-Addo recently assured Ghanaians of a peaceful and orderly election on December 7.

He stated that his administration is dedicated to ensuring that the upcoming elections are free, fair, and transparent.

This assurance comes amid growing concerns about potential electoral violence and irregularities.

The President declared, “We will not allow the peace, security, and stability of the nation, which have made us a beacon of democracy on the African continent, to be compromised by the ambitions of any political party or presidential candidate. It will not happen.”

In response, David Dunu called on the President to first address the unresolved issues from the 2020 elections, specifically the deaths of some Ghanaians, before expecting to be taken seriously by the public.
