Ibrahim Mumuni, the Director of Operations for the Anchoring Democracy Advocacy Movement Ghana (ADAM-GH), expressed disappointment that former President John Mahama was not acknowledged during the commissioning of the Prempeh I International Airport in Kumasi by President Akufo-Addo.
He emphasized that since the former President had secured the loans for the project, it would have been appropriate to recognize his contribution upon its completion.
The second phase of the Kumasi International Airport, now renamed the Prempeh I International Airport, was officially commissioned, making it the third international airport in the country after Accra and Tamale. It is slated to be fully operational by June of this year. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, alongside Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, oversaw the commissioning last Friday.
During the ceremony, they were joined by the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Keith Christopher Rowley, and the Minister of Transportation, Kwaku Ofori Asiamah, who together cut the ribbon to inaugurate the terminal.
Speaking on Ahotor 92.3 FM‘s ‘Simpieso‘ with host Emmanuel Martey, Ibrahim Mumuni of ADAM-GH expressed his belief that it is essential to acknowledge previous presidents who initiated projects before leaving office.
