Akote Odikro Urges Students to Justify Free Education Investment

The Suhum Akote Odikro, Nana Baffour Kwasi Akoh, has urged the youth to take their academic work seriously in order to grow into responsible and effective leaders in the future.

He made the call during the celebration of the Akote Homecoming, where he addressed students and community members on the importance of education to personal and national development.

Nana Baffour Kwasi Akoh said he draws inspiration from the late first President of Ghana, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, whose vision of free education opened opportunities for children from poor families. He noted that many beneficiaries of that policy have gone on to contribute significantly to national development and continue to shape the country’s destiny.

The chief commended the government for sustaining the free education policy, describing it as a laudable initiative that encourages school enrolment and retention, particularly among disadvantaged children.

He therefore challenged students to study diligently to justify the investments being made in them by both their parents and the state. According to him, effective time management and discipline are critical to achieving academic success and long-term educational goals.
