Ahotor FM’s Academic Showdown Gears Up for Exciting Second Round

Academic Showdown program on Ahotor FM 92.3. The highly anticipated educational competition is entering its second round on Saturday, September 28th, 2024.

Following the success of the first phase involving 22 junior high schools, the competition is set to become even more thrilling as it progresses to the next level. There is a growing sense of excitement among students, parents, and the public as the competition heats up.

During the Social Friday edition of Adekye Mu Nsem, Quiz Master and Moderator, Sir Braveheart Asonkey Ramsel, took the time to commend Ahotor FM, the students, and parents for their unwavering support.

He emphasized the significance of the program and called for even greater collaboration between stakeholders in education, especially within the Tema West Municipal Education Directorate, in partnership with Ahotor FM.

Madam Agartha Essel, a mathematics expert and Technical Committee member, also shared her praise for the impact of Academic Showdown on teaching and learning in the municipality. Speaking to Nana Dogbe on the Social Friday program, she highlighted how the competition has brought attention to gaps in the educational system that the Directorate plans to address.

Sakumono Complex 2 JHS emerged as the top-performing school from the first round, leading the scoreboard with an impressive 57.3 points. The focus of the upcoming second round will be on core subjects such as English, Mathematics, Science, and ICT, with the aim of fostering academic competitiveness and knowledge sharing.

Twelve schools from the Tema West Municipal Assembly will compete in this next phase, with the first matchup scheduled between Mexico JHS and Old Lashibi Junior High School. Don’t miss all the action on Saturday, September 28th, from 11 am to 12 pm on Ahotor FM 92.3.
