Universal Multi-Media, in partnership with the owners of Ahotor FM in Tema, has launched an educational project for Junior Secondary Schools called “The Academic Showdown.” This initiative aims to enhance knowledge in science and related subjects among students.
The Academic Showdown quiz program is part of their corporate social responsibility efforts, leveraging media platforms to educate and inform students from basic schools within the Tema West Education Directorate.
Bravehert Asonkey, the Science Facilitator at John Bosco Catholic Basic School (Tema West Municipal Education Directorate), emphasized that the project aims to improve science learning skills using various educational techniques within the Tema West Education Directorate. The quiz program targets both private and public Junior Secondary Schools in the area.
Rev. Emmanuel K. A. Appiah, Training Officer at the Tema West Municipal Education Directorate, expressed optimism that the project will foster healthy academic competition among Junior Secondary Schools in the area. He highlighted Ahotor FM’s corporate social responsibility program as a means to encourage schools to excel in sciences and related subjects.
Abena Mensah-Brown, Head of the Supervision Unit at the Tema West Municipal Education Directorate, affirmed the directorate’s commitment to supporting the program’s success. She believes the Academic Showdown will engage youth, keeping them informed about new developments during the educational program.
