Ahinful Calls for Dedicated National Team Coaches

Former Ghana international Augustine Ahinful is urging the Ghana Football Association to end the practice of appointing club-affiliated coaches to national teams.

Ahinful believes this dual role undermines national team development and effectiveness.

Ahinful warns that allowing coaches to manage clubs and national teams simultaneously could lead to corruption. He also questions how coaches can effectively scout and select top talent while juggling both roles.

Ahinful advocates for the GFA to employ full-time national team coaches with monthly salaries, enabling them to focus solely on building strong and competitive teams.

This, he believes, would improve Ghana’s football prospects.
