Ahinful Backs Coach Ofei Despite U-20 World Cup Setback

Former Ghana international Augustine Ahinful has expressed support for Black Satellites coach Desmond Ofei following their failure to qualify for the U-20 World Cup.

The team lost to Egypt 5-4 on penalties in the U-20 AFCON quarterfinals.

Ahinful believes Ofei deserves time and support to improve. “Everybody wants Desmond Ofei to succeed,” he said, adding that Ofei has made a good start and should be given the opportunity to “rewrite the wrongs.”

The Black Satellites’ last U-20 World Cup appearance was in 2015. Ahinful’s comments suggest optimism about the team’s future prospects under Ofei’s guidance.
