Agyemang Badu Hails Jordan Ayew’s Leadership After Impressive World Cup Qualifier Wins
Former Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has lavished praise on new Ghana captain Jordan Ayew, crediting his exceptional leadership for the team’s back-to-back victories in the World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar in March.
Ayew played a pivotal role in helping the Black Stars bounce back from a disappointing Africa Cup of Nations qualifying run, propelling them to the top of Group I in the World Cup qualifiers. The Leicester City star delivered outstanding performances, scoring a goal and providing four assists in the 5-0 and 3-0 wins against Chad and Madagascar, respectively.
Badu, who had the opportunity to play alongside Ayew, highlighted the captain’s calm and strong mentality. “He’s very calm, but don’t underestimate him. He has a strong mentality, and when you play with him, you’ll know the kind of guy he is,” Badu said on Tv3’s Sports Station.
With the captaincy issue resolved, Badu expressed optimism about the team’s future prospects, citing the presence of experienced players like Stephen Appiah and Asamoah Gyan. The Black Stars will resume their World Cup qualifying campaign in September, facing Comoros and Chad in their seventh and eighth group matches.
