The tournament ended on Sunday evening with Senegal lifting their first ever AFCON title after beating Egypt 4-2 on penalties, with the match remaining goalless after 120 minutes.
As a consequence, Senegal had four players in the Team of the Tournament.
Sadio Mane, who was also named Player of the Tournament, leads the way, alongside Edouard Mendy, who clinched the Goalkeeper of the Tournament award.
In addition, left-back Saliou Ciss and midfielder Nampalys Mendy made the selection, while captain Kalidou Koulibaly did not make it.
AFCON runners-up Egypt had three stars in the BEST XI of this year’s AFCON, including Mohamed Salah.
Orlando Pirates forward Gabadinho Mhango did not make the selection, which also includes 11 substitutes despite his memorable tournament for the Flames.
