Relegation bound Legon Cities have lost narrowly to Aduana Stars on Match Day 15 of the Ghana Premier League on Boxing Day to end 2024 in chaos.
Following the departure of coach Samuel Paa Kwesi Fabin assistant manager Adinan Saeed paraded a strong squad with a tactical switch from the previous game against Nations FC but still found himself and the team at the losing end at full time at the Legon Stadium.
Ivorian forward Abdul Bamba Latif slotted home Rich Sackey’s perfect cross in the 43rd minute and that was enough to secure all the three points back to Dormaa—What a Christmas present that was for the fans!
Nonetheless, Legon Cities showed glimpses of turning matters around having gone three straight games losing all of them and managing just three wins in fourteen games this season but their wastefulness upfront was at full play on the afternoon.
They created many chances especially in the first half but squandered all of them. The defeat leaves them at the very base of the league log entering into next year, 2025.
They face Hearts of Oak on January 3, 2025.
