ACP Leader Calls for Change Amid Economic Hardship: Demands Reduction in Port Charges and Taxes

During tours across various regions of the country, Ghanaians are vocal in their call for the All People’s Congress Party to step in and rescue the nation from severe economic hardship caused by the mismanagement of the economy under President Nana Akufo-Addo’s New Patriotic Party government.

There is a growing sentiment that both major political parties that have governed the country in recent years have failed to deliver meaningful benefits to Ghanaians, aside from corruption, intimidation, and worsening economic conditions.

Dr. Hassan Ayariga, the flag bearer of the All People’s Congress Party (ACP), expressed these concerns on the “Adekyee Mu Nsem” morning show on Ahotor 92.3 FM, hosted by Alex Nana Dogbey. He emphasized that the NPP government’s slogan of “breaking the eight” holds no promise, advocating instead for a change to ACP leadership to ensure quality governance.

He issued a stern warning to the government regarding high duties and taxes at the ports, announcing plans for a demonstration and urging support from all concerned Ghanaians, stakeholders, and importers to protest and compel the government to reduce these charges.

Dr. Ayariga criticised the current government’s salary structure as unjustifiably poor, especially considering Ghana’s lack of domestic car manufacturing. He decried the exorbitant taxes imposed on imported vehicles as detrimental and called for reform in this area.

Looking ahead, the ACP leader urged Ghanaians to vote out both major parties, (NDC and NPP) asserting that their governance has failed to spur economic development and alleviate the suffering of citizens. He emphasized that the demand for change is resonating strongly among the populace.
