Accra Hearts of Oak Slapped with GHC 20,000 Fine for Misconduct

The Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has imposed a hefty fine of GHC 20,000 on Accra Hearts of Oak for misconduct.

The Ghana Premier League side was found guilty of compromising match-day security and bringing the game into disrepute.

The charges stemmed from the Phobians’ home game against Young Apostles FC, where unaccredited persons, including supporters, were allowed into the safe zone.

The Disciplinary Committee’s verdict deemed this a serious breach of regulations, warranting the substantial fine.

While the full fine amounts to GHC 20,000, GHC 10,000 of this amount has been suspended until the end of the season.

This reprieve is contingent upon the club’s good behavior, with the GFA warning that any further misconduct will attract severe punishment.

The fine serves as a stern reminder to Accra Hearts of Oak and other Ghana Premier League clubs to maintain the highest standards of conduct and ensure the safety and integrity of match-day events.

The Phobians will be expected to take immediate action to rectify their security protocols and prevent similar incidents in the future.
