TEMA, Ghana, 14 March: The Secretary-General of the Ghana Federation of Labour, Abraham Koomson, has commended the Chief Executive Officer of GoldBod, Sammy Gyamfi, for taking time to engage with grassroots members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and listen to their concerns.
According to Mr. Koomson, it is important for the NDC to build and maintain a strong connection with its grassroots supporters, ensuring that party followers clearly understand the policies, decisions, and direction of the party.
Speaking on Ahotor FM’s “Yepe Ahunu” show on Saturday, March 14, Mr. Koomson praised Mr. Gyamfi for the initiative but stressed that the party must go beyond individual efforts.
He urged the NDC leadership to establish strong and effective structures that can consistently address the concerns of grassroots supporters.
Mr. Koomson cautioned that relying heavily on political appointees to solve the problems of party followers could create opportunities for corruption. Instead, he suggested that well-organised institutional structures within the party would help ensure fairness, transparency, and efficiency in addressing the needs of supporters.
He also emphasised that job creation must remain a top priority for the government, noting that sustainable employment opportunities will empower young people and reduce their dependence on political connections or appointees for opportunities.
According to him, empowering the youth through employment and clear development policies will strengthen public confidence in the government and contribute to national development.
