Aboubakar Ouattara Reflects on Hearts’ Draw with Vision FC

Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has shared his thoughts on his team’s hard-fought 1-1 draw with Vision FC in a week 27 Ghana Premier League encounter.

The match, played at the Nii Adjei Okraku II Sports Complex, saw Hearts take the lead through central defender Kelvin Osei Asibey’s clinical finish in the 40th minute.

However, Vision FC responded strongly in the second half, with Meschack Sowah Adjetey curling in a brilliant equalizer from outside the penalty area. The goal left the Hearts goalkeeper with no chance, and the Phobians were unable to regain the lead.

Speaking after the game, Ouattara acknowledged that the match was challenging, hinting at some off-pitch issues that affected the team’s performance.

“We played at this stadium, but it is not easy for us because of some things I don’t want to say, but I think the game is not bad,” he said.

Despite the dropped points, Ouattara found positives in his team’s effort. “The two teams tried their best, and we got our points.

We are impressed because every time I tell them we can score, we create some chances but no problem because the opponent also did well in defence, and in midfield, everybody tried to win the match in midfield.”

The draw keeps Hearts in fifth place on the league table with 41 points after 26 games, while Vision remain 14th with 29 points.

With the season entering its final stretch, both sides will be eager to gather momentum for a strong finish.
