Abeiku Santana confirmed as acting deputy, CEO of Ghana Tourism Authority  

 

Renowned Ghanaian broadcaster and entrepreneur Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey, popularly known as Abeiku Santana, has officially confirmed his appointment as the Acting Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA).

The celebrated media personality, who also serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Kaya Tours Ghana Limited, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for entrusting him with this critical role. In a post shared on his Instagram page on Friday, February 28, 2025, Santana thanked the president for the opportunity to serve the nation.

“Thank you, Your Excellency Mr. President John Dramani Mahama. I am deeply honoured and profoundly grateful for the trust and confidence you have placed in me by appointing me as the Acting Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority,” he wrote.

He further emphasized his commitment to advancing Ghana’s tourism sector, stating, “This opportunity is a great privilege to serve You and the good people of Ghana under your visionary leadership. With deepest gratitude and respect, God bless our dear nation.”

This significant appointment comes alongside President Mahama’s selection of actor James Gardiner as the Deputy Executive Secretary of the National Film Authority (NFA), reflecting the government’s dedication to promoting tourism and creative arts in Ghana.

Abeiku Santana’s Career Journey and Academic Background

Born in Koforidua in the Eastern Region of Ghana, Abeiku Santana’s journey to national prominence is marked by resilience and dedication. He began his education at Nana Kwaku Boateng Experimental School in Koforidua and later attended Ghana National College in Cape Coast, where he obtained his Ordinary Level Certificate for his Advanced Level Certificate, he enrolled at Ghana Senior High School, also in Koforidua.

Santana boasts an impressive academic portfolio. He holds a master’s degree in Tourism Management from the University of Cape Coast, a postgraduate diploma in Public Administration from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), and another master’s degree from the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS).

Additionally, he has qualifications in legal studies and public relations, including an associate degree in Legal Studies and Litigation from New York Paralegal School and an advanced certificate in Public Relations and Advertising from the Ghana Institute of Journalism.

Role at the Ghana Tourism Authority

As the acting deputy CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Abeiku Santana will work alongside the recently appointed CEO, Maame Efua Houadjeto, to advance Ghana’s tourism agenda.
