Independent MP-elect A Plus, known for his outspoken nature, has sharply criticized President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, asserting that his leadership has led to the downfall of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He expressed satisfaction with the party’s defeat in the recent elections, viewing it as a significant moment for Ghana.
In an interview with GHOne TV, A Plus, who represents Gomoa Central, did not hold back his disdain for the current administration. He stated, “Akufo-Addo has destroyed the NPP. The election results are a tremendous outcome. He has been humiliated, and I couldn’t be happier about it.”
The musician-turned-politician slammed the president’s policies, pointing to failures in addressing pressing issues faced by Ghanaians, including corruption and the management of the Free Senior High School (SHS) initiative. He remarked, “All they talk about is Free SHS, but what else is being done? His government has taken so much from us and failed to listen to the people.”
A Plus also celebrated his personal achievement of defeating the incumbent NPP MP, Nana Eyiah Quansah, in Gomoa Central, garnering 14,277 votes against Quansah’s 11,637.
Looking ahead, A Plus mentioned that he is exploring his political options, engaging in discussions with both the NPP and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
However, he stressed that his primary focus is the development of Gomoa Central. “I will decide based on which party can truly benefit my constituents,” he concluded.
