MP for Sagnarigu, A.B.A. Fuseini has condemned the demolition of Old Fadama, a surburb of Accra leaving many people homeless and stranded, especially when the region is partially locked down due to the covid-19 pandemic.
The exercise deprived hundreds of people their abode, as it houses many poor and vulnerable of the society, most of which are from the northern sector of the country.

Old Fadama is an urban slum area and serves as home to a lot of scrap dealers and head porters also known as kayayei among others.
The MP in an interview was unhappy with whoever was the face behind the demolition which he said was insensitive to the plight of those who find shelter in that community which runs into hundreds, with children and women who were left to the vagaries of the weather.
Mr Fuseini wondered why the Accra Metropolitan Authority could take such an action when the President has directed a locked down. He has therefore stated to haul the Accra Metropolitan Assembly, and the Minister for Local Government and Rural Development and Minister for Works and Housing would be among the ministries he would be seeking answers from.
Kasoa in the Central region, Ashaiman and Tema in the Greater Accra in the Greater Accra, Greater Kumasi in the Ashante region, have been partially locked down as an attempt to reduce the rate of infection of the novel coronary infection.
