The 1992 constitution restrict me if not, I would have thrown my support for you – Dormaahene tells Cheddar.

Dormaahene Osagyefo Oseadeyo Agyeman Badu II, the paramount chief of the Bono Traditional Area and a judge, has shared his thoughts on his outspoken nature.

Addressing a durbar held to welcome independent presidential candidate Nana Kwame Bediako, popularly known as “Cheddar” of the Newforce Party, Dormaahene explained that his frequent public commentary stems from a desire to see positive change, not personal gain.

He remarked that, given his positions and titles, he has no personal need for wealth and speaks out because he believes his words carry significance.

During his speech, Dormaahene noted that if the 1992 Republican Constitution did not restrict traditional leaders from engaging in politics, he would openly support Cheddar.

He expressed frustration with the two main political parties, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), accusing both of causing Ghana’s current challenges.

Highlighting the divisiveness often seen in Ghana’s political landscape, he pointed out that conflicts are almost always between the NPP and NDC, while smaller parties like the PNC, CPP, NDP, APC, and GUM are rarely involved.

He voiced support for a “third force” in Ghanaian politics and suggested that the new force Party might be positioned to fill this role, given their visible efforts to address national issues.
