NDC Presidential Candidate John Dramani Mahama has accused Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of avoiding discussions about Ghana’s struggling economy—a core responsibility he was appointed to address.
Speaking in Savelugu during his Northern Region tour, John Mahama asserted that the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration has failed in economic management, leaving the nation in crisis.
He noted that Bawumia’s recent “50 questions” aimed at him carefully avoided economic issues, calling it evidence of the Vice President’s evasion.
“If you look at those 50 questions, there’s nothing about the economy—he’s dodging it,” Mr. Mahama stated. “This shows he’s running from the very problem he was brought in to fix.”
Earlier, John Mahama posed five key economic questions to Bawumia, pressing him to address the challenges impacting Ghanaians. Referring specifically to his fifth question, he asked, “Why are you running from the economy?”
Confidently addressing the crowd, John Dramani Mahama expressed his belief that the NDC will secure victory in 2024, promising a renewed focus on restoring economic stability.
