Historically, Ghanaians have demonstrated resilience, managing to make ends meet despite various challenges. However, the current administration has plunged our economy into chaos, making it increasingly difficult for the average citizen to afford even a simple three-course meal each day. This distressing reality has left many Ghanaians asking: What has happened to our country?
Through extensive outreach, NDC Insight has encountered alarming accounts from farmers, market women, and government workers across the nation. The overwhelming consensus reveals a shocking state of despair fueled by rampant corruption within all sectors of government. Many officials now openly solicit bribes, exacerbating the hardships faced by everyday citizens. Government workers have candidly admitted that their salaries have become insufficient for survival, forcing them into a cycle of corruption just to make ends meet.
It is disheartening to learn that, for the first time in Ghana’s history, there appear to be no effective checks and balances within our government. Leadership has devolved into a self-serving enterprise where the primary focus seems to be on personal enrichment rather than serving the nation. This alarming trend must be addressed urgently.
