When the NPP greets you with a good morning, you should check the sun – John Mahama

John Dramani Mahama, the Presidential Candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has strongly asserted that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) cannot be trusted on any of their promises.

Addressing residents as part of his three-day tour of the Northern Region, Mr. Mahama criticized the current leadership, citing their track record of deceit as a reason for the public’s skepticism.

“Unfortunately, the current crop of leaders, including Nana Akufo-Addo and Bawumia, have proven time and again that their words are not to be trusted,” he remarked, urging Ghanaians to be cautious and not to fall for the NPP’s rhetoric again.

Drawing on a poignant proverb shared by A.B.A. Fuseini, the NDC member of parliament for Sagnarigu, John Mahama warned the audience, “When the NPP greets you with a good morning, you should check the sun. Their words lack reliability.” This metaphor encapsulates the sentiment of mistrust he aims to instill in voters regarding the NPP.

John Mahama’s tour, branded as “Mahama4Change2024,” is designed to articulate his vision and policies for Ghana’s future should he reclaim the presidency.

On the first day of his tour, he visited Chereponi in the North East Region, emphasizing the urgent need to complete the Yendi-Chereponi road to enhance connectivity and development in the area.

His journey continued through Saboba, Tatale, and Zabzugu, where he engaged with local communities to discuss their concerns and aspirations.

Looking ahead, the second day of his tour will see Mr. Mahama and his entourage travel to Kpandai, Wulensi, Bimbilla, and Yendi, further deepening his outreach and connection with the people of the Northern Region.

Through this tour, he seeks not only to rally support but also to foster a dialogue about the future of Ghana, grounded in transparency and accountability.
